Server configuration

The Server configuration page edits properties in the serverconfig.xml file selected by the running server's effective -configfile= argument. The Mod's own connection and authentication settings live in a separate data/config.json file on the game host.

Edit a property

  1. Use Common or All and search for the exact property you need.
  2. Change one or more values and review the modified fields before saving.
  3. Save the changes. The panel validates the batch and writes the file together; it also keeps one file backup named <config-file>.7dpanel.bak.
  4. Restart the game server when the changed property must be read again at startup. The current runtime statistics may still reflect the old value until then.

The page can restore its single .7dpanel.bak copy while the Mod API is running. This is a convenience for undoing a configuration-file edit, not a replacement for independent backups. If a bad configuration prevents the server or API from starting, restore the XML file manually. For world-save backups, use Backups.

Panel connection settings

Edit <server-root>/Mods/7DPanel/data/config.json on the host, preserve its other fields, and restart the server after changes. These settings are not edited by the XML page.

SettingPurpose
listenUrlAPI listener, default http://+:8088/. Replace the wildcard with the actual host when opening the panel in a browser. Older hostUrl configurations must be renamed to listenUrl.
steamLoginEnabledSteam administrator sign-in switch; defaults to true.
publicBaseUrlBrowser-facing origin, such as https://panel.example.com, without a path, query, credentials, or wildcard host. It must match the browser's scheme, host, and port.
httpProxyUrlOptional outbound HTTP proxy origin, such as http://127.0.0.1:7890, without a path, query, fragment, credentials, or wildcard host.

An empty publicBaseUrl allows fallback to the registered game IP and the API listener's protocol and port. Set it explicitly for a domain, reverse proxy, remapped port, LAN access, or frontend development. The Steam callback uses this origin and does not support a hosting subpath.

Player-center game links also use this public origin, independently of the Steam login switch. Serve the frontend fallback for /player/* and forward /api and /oauth unchanged on that origin. A change of browser origin requires players to sign in again.

httpProxyUrl currently serves Steam verification requests made by 7DPanel. It does not configure the game engine, other Mods, or browser traffic. Only an HTTP proxy is supported; HTTPS destinations use its tunnel. SOCKS, HTTPS proxy origins, and proxy credentials are unsupported. An empty value preserves the runtime's proxy defaults. An unreachable configured proxy causes verification to fail without a direct retry; see Troubleshooting.
