Install and update ​

7DPanel runs as a Mod inside the 7 Days to Die dedicated server. The browser interface is available only when the deployed package includes the built frontend (wwwroot/index.html). The user guide is a separate static site and is not part of that Mod package.

Before installation ​

  • Use a supported dedicated-server host: Windows Server 2016+, Windows 10+, or Ubuntu 22.04+ on x86-64.
  • Keep the game's 0_TFP_Harmony Mod enabled.
  • Obtain a validated 7DPanel Mod package that includes ModInfo.xml, the Mod assemblies, and wwwroot/index.html.

Install the package ​

  1. Copy the entire validated package to <server-root>/Mods/7DPanel/. Do not copy only the main DLL.
  2. Start or restart the dedicated server. 7DPanel creates Mods/7DPanel/data/config.json and its runtime data on first startup.
  3. Open http://<server-host>:8088/ if the default host binding is in use. Use the actual host name or address, not the + wildcard shown in listenUrl.
  4. Continue with First sign-in before making the endpoint accessible outside a trusted network.

If the page does not load, check the server log for Mod startup errors and use Troubleshooting.

Update an installation ​

  1. Make an independent copy of the installed Mods/7DPanel/data/ directory. It contains credentials, a machine key, and application data.
  2. Deploy the new validated package over the Mod's program files. Preserve the existing data/ directory.
  3. Restart the game server so it loads the new assemblies, then sign in and check the Overview.

For older configurations, rename hostUrl to listenUrl while preserving its address; see Panel connection settings. The current internal-development Shop schema has breaking changes without a compatibility migration. Validate database compatibility and the release's migration instructions before upgrading an existing installation; keeping a backup alone does not make an old Shop schema compatible.

The repository's release and deployment scripts are available to operators who build their own package. They require an explicit deployment target and do not replace the separate data/ backup.
